In this episode, Bethany sits down with world champion sprinter and metabolic practitioner Cynthia Monteleone to chat about all things health, fitness, and resilience. They dig into trending health topics like creatine, seed oils, and the myth that your leggings are poisoning you, then get into why sprinting is one of the best things you can do for your hormones, brain health, and aging - and how anyone can start at any fitness level. Cynthia shares her incredible story of becoming a world champion in her 40s after a 20-year break, recovering from a gnarly pole vault injury without surgery, surviving the Lahaina fire and rebuilding her family's life on the Big Island, advocating for fairness in women's sports, and why giving back to your community and taking care of yourself as a mom matters more than most people realize. Guest Bio Cynthia Monteleone is a world champion sprinter, metabolic practitioner, and mom of three who became a world champion in the 400 meters in her 40s - running faster than she did in college after a 20-year break from the sport. She went on to become a multi-event athlete competing in the decathlon, heptathlon, and pentathlon, and now trains Olympic and elite athletes on performance and nutrition. Cynthia is also the author of Fast Over 40, a vocal advocate for fairness in women's sports, and a Lahaina fire survivor who gives back to her Hawaii community through free youth wrestling and art programs.
